Although the Club members' sailing knowledge is pretty good, we cannot know everything
regarding sailing. For further information about sailing, one useful website to check
is the
Royal Yachting Association. This site will also show
information about training, insurance, etc.
Some members have kept very good links with
local clubs such as:
–
Baltic Wharf
–
Bristol Corinthians Yacht Club
–
Bristol Sailing Association
–
Chew Valley Sailing Club
–
Portishead Yatching and Sailing Club
–
Thornbury Sailing Club
Alternatively, you can click on
UK sailing index that shows information about clubs, sailing schools, etc.
The Club members use various boats. We have tried to show all the boats in the
photo gallery. However, it has not always been possible. The
class association links, below,
will show also useful information about the various boats at the club:
–
GP14
–
Lark
–
Laser class association
–
Laser 5000
–
Lightning class association. Some pictures taken at the show and some comments about the new Lightning can be found on the attached
link.
–
Mirror class association
–
RS class association (RS200 and RS400 sailed at Shirehampton)
–
Scorpion class association
–
Solo class association
–
Wanderer class association
–
Wayfarer class association
If you are interesting to buy a boat, the three links are a good start. Whatever the site you select,
it is highly recommended to see the boat prior to make an offer. Although in
Ebay for example you can see picture of the boat, the pictures do not show
everything.

To sail at the club, an insurance is required as explained on
Membership Details. There are many companies that can provide such services.
In addition, it is possible through the class association to have deal with insurance
companies. The list below is not a recommendation:
–
Craft Insurnace.
–
Noble Marine.
–
Newtoncrum.
The following pubs are frequented by some club members when the sailing is over
–"The Lampligthers"
–Georges Inn in Shirehamtpon center
